Comfort can begin with asking

When Samuel cannot find his favourite blanket, he feels the ache of missing something special. His story shows children that sadness can be named, shared and met with comfort from a trusted grown-up.

  1. Notice the sadness. A heavy chest, tears or wanting to be quiet can be signs that something matters.
  2. Name what is missing. Samuel can say why he feels sad instead of carrying the feeling alone.
  3. Ask for comfort. A trusted grown-up can listen, stay close and help with the next small step.
